A Richmond man was arrested Wednesday on three felony counts of child molesting one day after he reported being battered.
Justin R. Mitchell, 30, of the 2500 block of North West 16th Street was lodged in the Wayne County Jail on Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3 felony counts of child molesting. He remained in the jail Thursday morning on a $75,000 surety bond.
Details of what Mitchell is alleged to have done were not immediately available.
Mitchell was under investigation before a Tuesday incident at his home where he reported being battered, Richmond Police Department Capt. Kevin Wampler said. RPD responded to Mitchell’s home at about 11 p.m. Tuesday, but Mitchell told police he could not identify the suspect.
The investigation continues in the child molestation charges and the battery incident continue, Wampler said.
