A Muncie man has been accused of beating and sexually abusing a child under the age of 9.
Hussein Hadi Ahmed Al Amri, 39, of the 5200 block of West Keller Road, is preliminarily charged with three counts of child molesting, child exploitation, child solicitation and battery on a person under the age of 14.
He was being held in the Delaware County jail on Friday under a $100,000 bond.
According to an affidavit, a child told authorities Amri had at various times beaten him with a belt and forced him to engage in sexual activities.
He alleged the Muncie man recorded some of those activities with a cellphone, and at times threatened to post those images on YouTube.
The young accuser also said he was at times forced to watch movies, on a laptop computer, that showed adults doing “nasty things.”
In the affidavit, city police officer Kristofer Swanson wrote that he viewed a phone video that allegedly showed Amri “playing with (the boy) and pulling his pants down.”
It apparently did not show sexual activity.
Court records reflect no prior charges or convictions for Amri, who as arrested Thursday afternoon. The most serious of the preliminary charges against Amri, a molesting count, is a Level 1 felony carrying up to 50 years in prison.
