A Wayne County fugitive was found and captured at his father’s home Wednesday afternoon, resulting in both men landing in the Darke County Jail.
Darke County sheriff’s deputies went to a rural home in the southwestern part of the county shortly before 4 p.m. and arrested Timothy D. Shuff, 32, of Wayne County.
Shuff was on the run after failing to appear at an April 20 Wayne County Circuit Court hearing in a case in which he has been charged with child molesting (a Level 1 felony) and sexual misconduct with a minor (a Level 4 felony).
Deputies also arrested his father, Rory A. Shuff, 56, charging him with obstruction of justice and harboring a fugitive (a third-degree felony).
Darke County deputies had visited Rory Shuff’s home at 428 Stingley Road on April 22 and 23, looking for Timothy Shuff, but both times Rory Shuff assured them his son was not on the premises.
The senior Shuff refused to let deputies search his home.
ON Wednesday morning, Darke County deputies received an anonymous tip that Timothy Shuff was at his father’s home, said Detective David Hawes.
