Delray Beach doctor is being accused by former patients that he molested the women while they were under his care.
According to an arrest report, Dr. Manuel Abreu, formerly of Personal Physician Care, at 4800 Linton Blvd., was arrested Tuesday. Abreu is an internist with a specialty in dermatology.

Delray Beach police said a woman filed a police report in April accusing Abreu of touching her inappropriately after having a cyst removed. The woman told police he was cleaning up the wound on her mid-thigh when she felt his hand travel upward between her legs.
She told police he then molested her, according to the arrest report.
Police said the woman told them she didn’t say anything as it happened because she was shocked. After leaving the exam room, she demanded to speak to the office manager about the incident. The manager told her to write down her complaint and come back with it, according to the arrest report.
The woman then went to the police, where she filed a report.
Police said after getting her complaint, they received three reports from two other women who said they were also molested by Abreu. One of the women was a medical assistant at Abreu’s office, according to court documents.
Finally, a fourth woman came forward and filed a report in Largo, Fla. saying she was molested there, according to the report. Largo is near Saint Petersburg in Pinellas County.
Adam Horowitz, an attorney representing Abreu’s alleged victims, said there are a total of seven women seeking action against him. Three of those women are from Pinellas County, where Abreu worked from 2010 to 2012.
He said his clients are thrilled that the state is pursuing charges against Abreu.
“Doctors occupy a unique place in our society — they’re trusted and in order to get good treatment, you have to confide in them,” Horowitz said. “When a doctor betrays you, that’s a real violation.”
Abreu is charged with sexual battery. He is being held at the Palm Beach County Jail on $500,000 bail. A judge also ordered that Abreu’s medical license be suspended pending the criminal proceedings.
