Sheriff’s deputies arrested a man on suspicion of molesting his girlfriend’s 10-year-old daughter at the Fontana home where he was living.
Miguel Jafar Gutierrez, 27, who is not living in the United States legally, was arrested and booked at the West Valley Detention Center in Rancho Cucamonga on charges of continuous sexual abuse of a minor, sodomy, and oral copulation of minor, according to a press release issued today by the sheriff’s station in Fontana.
Gutierrez is being held in lieu of $250,000 bail.
Sheriff’s deputies were called Wednesday by administrators at Poplar Elementary School, in Fontana, with information about the girl being molested at her home, in the 15000 block of Pine Street. The girl does not attend the school, but as mandated reporters, school administrators reported the accusations to authorities.
The girl told authorities that her mother’s boyfriend, Gutierrez, had been molesting her for the last two years, according to the press release. The abuse would occur when her mother was not home.
Sheriff’s detectives obtained evidence that corroborated the girl’s accusations, and Gutierrez was arrested Wednesday.
