An Oak Hill sexual predator was arrested and accused again of molesting a child, sheriff’s investigators said.
Ernest Anderson, 40, who Florida Department of Law Enforcement records show was convicted of sexual battery by an adult on a child less than 12 years of age in 1997, was again charged Thursday with molesting a child, this time a 6-year-old boy, deputies aid.
Anderson, charged with two counts of lewd and lascivious molestation, was being held Friday in the Volusia County Branch Jail on $200,000, records show.
According to investigators, the child told investigators that Anderson touched him once a week between December and July. The incidents occurred in the child’s parents’ room or in the shower because Anderson and the child showered together, investigators said.
While the investigation was ongoing, Anderson called an investigator and said he needed advice because family members are concerned that he took showers with the small boy, the report states.
On July 23, Anderson drank bleach and tried to kill himself because of the accusations made against him, deputies said.
