A 35-year-old Greensburg, Indiana man has been arrested on suspicion that he sexually molested a 12-year-old Decatur County girl.
William M. Foddrill, was booked into Decatur County Jail at 11:40 a.m. Tuesday. For his own safety, he has been transferred to a facility outside of Decatur County, according to jail personnel. Foddrill is being held on $5,000 cash bond.
He has been charged with a Class A felony by Decatur County Prosecutor James Rosenberry.
According to court documents, Foddrill is suspected to have performed sexual intercourse and/or deviate sexual conduct with the girl in rural Decatur County sometime between Jan. 1 and May 14.
The investigating officer, Indiana State Police Trooper Brian Earls, said a guardian contacted state police to report the crime.
Earls said he interviewed the victim and the suspect.
“He did admit to it,” Earls said.
Earls also said that the investigation is ongoing and more charges could follow.
Foddrill appeared in court via video conference Tuesday, and the court entered a not guilty plea on his behalf. A trial has been scheduled for 8:30 a.m. Dec. 4.
