A Muncie, Indiana man has been accused of repeatedly sexually abusing a girl under the age of 14.
John Eric Swearingen, 34, was arrested June 4, preliminarily charged with three counts of child molesting and one count of child solicitation. He is accused of engaging in sex acts with a girl over a period of more than two years.
In a probable cause affidavit, city police Sgt. Linda Cook wrote that Swearingen at first denied the allegations, but later confessed, asking the officer to “sign me up,” apparently for related counseling. He was being held without bond Thursday in the Delaware County.
Court records reflect no prior charges or convictions for Swearingen.
