The North Bay, as word spread that a Boy Scout leader was accused of child molestation.
Santa Rosa Police arrested 40-year-old Franklin Lee on suspicion of multiple sex crimes against one boy, over a period of almost four years.
Since 2010, Lee has been involved in scouting in Sebastopol, as a Den Leader for Pack 128 with boys up to third grade, and as Assistant Scout Master for Troop 27, boys into their teens.
“Never had a complaint about him whatsoever” Steven Dunn, District Director for the Redwood Empire Council, told KTVU, “he’s been a really good volunteer for the organization”.
Dunn says the allegations are a shock: five felony counts of prolonged molestation and two counts related to pornographic pictures and videos. The Council ejected Lee immediately upon his arrest.
Lee is at the Sonoma County Jail; his bail is set at $1 million.
