A Glenside man charged with molesting his two young stepdaughters over a four-year period that began about a decade ago waived the majority of charges against him at his preliminary hearing Feb. 19 before Springfield District Judge Katherine McGill.
Salvatore Conigliaro, 45, of the 800 block of North Easton Road, Glenside, was arrested Feb. 10 and charged with indecent assault, aggravated indecent assault, corruption of a minor, unlawful contact with a minor and endangering the welfare of a child, according to a criminal complaint.
In exchange for waiving the charges to Montgomery County Court, which meant the two girls would not need to testify at the hearing, a felony count of unlawful contact with a minor was dropped. A request to reduce bail, however, was denied.
Conigliaro allegedly molested his two stepdaughters beginning in 2003 at the home he shared with his now ex-wife and her two daughters in the 1100 block of Summit Lane, Oreland, and a pizza shop the couple owned and operated in Whitemarsh Township, the affidavit says. The incidents allegedly took place while one girl was between the ages of 6 and 11 and the other between the ages 5 and 9, the complaint states.
